A Ponsonby Bathroom With a Custom Tiled Shower
The shower sits in a corner and takes an angled, five-sided shape to leave room at the door. We built the base on site and tiled it in black, with the floor laid to a centre waste. Frameless glass panels close it in, so light from the room reaches the shower.
Chrome fittings give a fixed shower head and a handheld on a rail. Every wet area in the house sits on a new waterproofing membrane, and the waterproofing carries our 15-year guarantee from handover.
A tiled wet-area shower is building work that Auckland Council says needs a building consent. Nick signs the PS3 producer statement for the waterproofing on consented jobs.

The brief
What the Ponsonby Owners Asked For
The owners wanted the four rooms to look like one set. We repeated the same white tile, the same black band and the same dark floor in every room, so the house reads as one renovation.
Small rooms were the main constraint. Compact vanities, back-to-wall toilets and glass in the shower keep each room usable at its size. The plumbing and drainage were updated as part of the job, and each wet room got an extractor fan.
