Failed Wet Area Rebuilds
Failed commercial wet areas get stripped out by us back to the framing or the slab and rebuilt from there, so the damage under the tiles is found and replaced.
Darkening grout, lifting tiles and a smell cleaning cannot shift usually point to water under the floor, and the room needs a full rebuild.
The waterproofing membrane goes back on a dry, sound substrate before any new tile is laid.

What Sets the Cost of a Commercial Bathroom in Auckland

Rules that shape a commercial bathroom
Accessibility, Toilet Numbers and Consent for Auckland Commercial Bathrooms
Auckland workplaces carry a lot of people. Stats NZ Business Demography counted 225,500 employees in the Waitematā local board area in 2024, up from 194,800 in 2019, across 33,582 business locations. Maungakiekie-Tāmaki, which takes in Penrose and Mt Wellington, had 93,000. Every one of those workplaces needs toilets sized for the people using them.
Offices, shops, restaurants and factories all fall under Schedule 2 of the Building Act, so they must provide access and facilities for people with disabilities. MBIE's guidance on accessible buildings says an altered building must comply with those provisions as nearly as is reasonably practicable, and the council cannot waive them. NZS 4121 is the standard for accessible design.
Building Code clause G1 sets the number and location of toilets and basins for the people in a building, and MBIE publishes a calculator for it. A tiled wet-area shower needs a building consent in Auckland. Alchemy does not lodge consents. The building owner or their designer lodges the application, and Nick issues the PS3 for the waterproofing.
